Black Friday Traditions
We took my brothers Alex and Noah along to pick out a tree for my mom. Hope she liked it ~ she hasn't called me yet to tell me either way. I guess no news is good news.
Teague trying to help carry the tree.
Okay, so I'm not a great tree decorator, but I hope to get better.
So today we spent our 3rd black Friday together as a married couple. Traditionally for us we go out for breakfast, then head over to Bredeweg Acres to pick out our Christmas Tree! The first year we had a beautiful tree. Perfectly round and just the right height. Drew took f . o . r . e . v . e . r to pick it out. Last year when we went Drew still critiqued every tree until we found the right one, but it was faster than the year before and not as perfect. This year was slim pickin's. There were hardly any trees left to cut down (same spot as the last 2 years), and we have a much lower budget (because we're working on this debt free thing that Drew loves and I don't love - although the outcome is nice). Anyway, so we get out into the area where the Fraser firs are and the 3rd tree we look at Drew says, "okay that's a good one". WHAT!?!?!?! Where did my meticulous, take-all-day-to-pick-out-a-Christmas-tree husband go? So we sawed that baby down and that is what we ended up with! It's short and sweet.

Bradley, Brent, Briggs, Julian Cabin
My mom and her 3 sisters bought a cabin just outside of Manistee. They have worked really hard on it and it's looks great. It does still smell a little like dead mice, but it's because the house hasn't been lived in in 3 years. So the mice have used it, not anymore!!!! They're definitely dead!
Look at that chunky monkey!!!
I love my naked babies. We were getting them ready for bed. So cute!
Drew and Noah on the mini motor bike.
Teague and daddy on the ATV. They were on it for at least an hour. When Teague came in he was eating a snack and from a distance I thought he had stepped in dog poop. As I got closer to it, it wasn't dog poop, it was melted shoe!!!! It had almost melted clear through the sole of it! Scary - Teague could have burned his foot!

Trick or Treat!
Finley
Aunt Jennie and her little monster!
Aunt Jennie and her little monster!
Uncle Matt and Micah
Matt, Jennie, Drew and I took the kids trick or treating last night. We did take advantage of the candy that our kids collected. However, I did go through it and took out all the stuff Teague can have and put the rest in a bowl and told Drew to take the goodies from there. I also made beef stew and cornbread muffins for dinner. Then to top off the night, we all headed over to Oma's for apple fritters and hot cider! Yum!
